Biography

Dr. Pamela Humphries Merritt joined the TJCA Board of Directors in August 2026. She is a former Cleveland County Schools’ teacher and retired principal. Dr. Merritt earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees from Converse University.  Dr. Merritt completed her Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. She has taught elementary and middle school grades and served as an adjunct instructor at Cleveland Community College.

 

Dr. Merritt resides in Shelby, NC with her husband, Carlos. They have two adult children and two precious grandchildren with the oldest grandchild attending Thomas Jefferson.
