2021-22 TJCA Grammar School - Teacher of the Year

Anna Harrill has been selected as Teacher of the Year at TJCA Grammar School.

Ms. Harrill graduated from Appalachian State in 2009 with cum laude honors. She began her teaching career in Rutherford County school in 2009 and joined Thomas Jefferson in 2016 as a kindergarten teacher. For the last four years, she has been part of the first-grade team and is currently their grade-level chair.

She also served as MTSS coordinator during the 20/21 school year. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham methods of reading instruction.

Her passion is for finding unique ways to reach struggling students. Anna says she is very appreciative of this honor, especially working at a school that has so many passionate and talented teachers.

Jason Cole, principal at the grammar campus, said, “Anna is such a positive asset to our school, and we are excited for her to receive this well-deserved honor.”
