The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy High School Academic Team (“A” team) finished first at the 15-team Southside Starter in Greenville, SC, on Saturday, Oct. 16. The tournament was the first in-person tournament for the team since the beginning of the pandemic. “A” team members were Dominik Mystkowski (captain), Camden Sloan, Aidan O'Reilly, and Jack Parker. The “B” team also made it to the afternoon championship bracket. “B” team members were Maylan Maxwell (captain), Katrina Shauf, Sydney Evans, Hunter Plaster, Ava Bridge, and Dominic McCraw. The “C” team grew stronger throughout the day at their very first academic team tournament. “C” team members were Isaac Willis (captain), Anjali Patel, Ash Daigle, and Cayson Sloan. The teams are coached by Kimberly Lloyd.
