TJCA Students Named State Champions in Statewide Writing Competition

The North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities presented the eleventh State Finals of the state writing competition, The Quill, on Monday, November 16 at participating schools statewide. This year's event was presented in a modified fashion due to the pandemic. Eighteen schools qualified from Regionals to compete in the State Finals.

Four students from each team wrote from four different text type prompts. Submissions were scored and all results were presented via Facebook Live on November 23. The state champions were Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (High School - second consecutive year) of Rutherford County and Horton Middle School of Pittsboro.
