TJCA 2020 Vision Site Plan

We are steadily moving forward toward making our 2020 Vision plan a reality but we need your help!

January Newsletter Update
We continue to witness first-hand the exciting growth on the upper campus at Thomas Jefferson. Despite a few days of bad weather in our area, the gymnasium portion of the construction project remains on schedule.

These past few weeks the building pad for the gymnasium has been graded, the contractor has poured the foundations and installed the masonry for the foundation walls. The excess dirt that has been removed from the building pads in order to lower them and allow the contractor to finish the grading is being hauled to the back of the property where the baseball and softball fields will be.

Currently, the electrical contractor is installing the conduits which go beneath the gymnasium concrete floor slab. The concrete subsurface for the gymnasium floor is projected to be poured after the first of the year. Grading continues on the classroom building and is almost ready for the general contractor to begin foundation installation. Before the classroom foundation is installed there is an area of rock that will need to be blasted and removed. We anticipate a schedule delay for completion of the classroom building by roughly a week for this removal.

December Newsletter Update
What an exciting time at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy! It’s hard to miss all the construction activity taking place at the upper campus. Bulldozers and heavy equipment are hard at work grading the site for our new 2020 project, and foundation construction will begin on the first building this week.

We are thankful for the generous donations to date and for the low-interest USDA loan that brought us to this point. As you may know, charter schools do not receive funding from the State or local governments to address building construction, maintenance, transportation, and other similar needs. Government funding we receive is primarily for teacher salaries and educational support. We rely on the generosity of our parents, grandparents, and community supporters to make improvements like this happen.

Construction is underway on the physical buildings and site work, but we need your help to complete this important project. Your contributions help pay for smartboards in the classrooms, lockers, bleachers, fencing, paving the running track, ballfield lighting, and future plans such as tennis courts, a field house, music, and training room additions, renovations of our auditorium, and other needs not yet funded. No gift is too big or too small, and multiple year commitments are welcome. Please begin considering the level of support you can provide to make this vision a reality. Feel free to contact Board members or administration with questions or for more information.

Thank you for choosing Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy as your school of choice, and thank you for helping us make this project a reality.
