Eligibility

TJCA is a tuition-free public charter school. All families residing in North Carolina interested in a college-preparatory curriculum for their children are welcome to apply.

Students are successful because they are expected to come to school ready to learn and work hard, and parental involvement is promoted and encouraged. Students are held accountable for their academic success and must respect a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Teachers are given the tools to be innovative, and we work to inspire excellence and a love of knowledge that helps our students succeed in school and life.

Enrollment

Students must submit an application to the particular grade level for the upcoming academic year before the deadline approved by the board. If an application is completed after the deadline, the student will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

If the number of students who wish to attend TJCA exceeds the school’s capacity, enrollment will be determined by a public random drawing (the lottery). You need not be present to secure the opportunity for placement, and families will be notified of the status of acceptance and be given a deadline to respond.

All high school students applying for grades 10-12 are required to send a transcript to:
