Biography

Jacob Friedman has served on the Thomas Jefferson Board since 2018 and currently serves on the Finance Committee. His two children have attended TJ since 2013. Dr. Friedman attended Johns Hopkins University where he studied Biomedical Engineering as an undergraduate and Materials Science as a graduate student. He then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine before completing training in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University. He and his wife moved to Shelby NC in 2002 where he practices Orthopaedic Surgery. He has held numerous committee roles at the hospital in Shelby including serving as Chief of Surgery. He is also involved with the finance and surgical optimization committees at OrthoCarolina. He enjoys being outdoors with his family including boating, running, cycling, hiking, and hunting as well as watching his girls participate on TJ's cross country and soccer teams.
